Frost Damage

wpid-20150419_154327.jpgI got caught out last night. The days are long and warm, and I thought that the night couldn’t possibly get that cold. Its near the end of April, and my over-confidence has not paid off!

When I woke up this morning I was really surprised to see some ice on the chickens water. It wasn’t a hard frost, but enough to damage a few leaves on the courgette plants I planted out yesterday.

wpid-20150419_154331.jpgI’ve learnt my lesson. I will be covering these crops with a simple fleece this evening, just to give that extra bit of protection.
