The sweetcorn that I grew last year did produce some corn, but it wasn’t entirely successful. I didn’t understand that to pollinate, the corn stems had to be close together, and brush against each other in the wind.
This year I am planting a dense block of sweetcorn at the back of the veg patch, so it doesn’t block much-needed sunlight from the rest of the crops.
If all these germinate, I will have about 25 plants, in a meter sq block.
These should happily germinate in the pots in the greenhouse, with the warm weather.
