I was heartbroken when I discovered that Badgers had got in to our garden and decimated the sweetcorn. They ended up pulling up over half the sweetcorn, and nibbling on some of the newly developed pumpkins. There is not much that can be done about this.
On one hand I am delighted that we live in an area that has Badgers, on the other upset that I may not be able to grow sweetcorn in the future, for fear of encouraging the opportunists again.
Badgers are a protected species, and as upset as I may be, we just need to ensure we can protect the garden from them by building a better fence. That will have to be seen to be believed, as they are, apparently, great climbers too!
